Analytics & Insights — Understand Your Audience
Introduction
Answe Analytics shows you how visitors interact with your widgets — what they click, where they drop off, and how much revenue your widgets generate. Use these insights to optimize your conversation flows and increase conversions.
How It Works
Dashboard Overview
Your analytics dashboard shows:
- Impressions — How many times your widget was viewed
- Engagement — How many visitors interacted (clicked, filled forms, shopped)
- Conversions — Reservations made, orders placed, forms submitted
- Revenue — Total and average order value
- Conversion rate — Percentage of visitors who completed an action
Flow Analysis
See how visitors navigate through your questions:
- Most common paths through your conversation
- Where visitors drop off
- Which options are most popular
- Branching visualization of conversation flows
Field Analysis
For forms, see:
- Most populated fields
- Value distribution (what visitors type most often)
- Top responses for dropdown fields
Tag-Based Segmentation
Conversations are automatically tagged based on visitor actions:
- "reservation" — Completed a booking
- "order" — Completed an order
- "form_submitted" — Submitted a form
Filter your analytics by these tags to see specific interaction types.
Conversion Tags
Conversion tags let you define which visitor actions count as conversions for your widget. This controls the Conversion rate and Time to convert metrics on your dashboard.
How to set up:
- Open your question's Settings tab
- Find the Conversion tags field
- Enter the tags that represent conversions, separated by commas (e.g.
purchase, signup, booking) - Save — analytics will automatically use these tags
Example: A restaurant might set reservation as a conversion tag so the conversion rate shows what percentage of visitors end up making a booking. An online store might use order to track purchase conversions.
Once configured, the dashboard automatically calculates:
- Conversion rate — Percentage of engaged visitors who triggered a conversion tag
- Time to convert — Average time from first interaction to conversion
If no conversion tags are configured, the dashboard shows "No conversion tags configured" and conversion rate displays as 0%.
Revenue Tracking
Answe automatically tracks revenue from your widgets and displays it on your analytics dashboard.
How revenue is tracked:
- Online store orders — Revenue is tracked automatically from the cart total. No setup needed.
- Reservations and forms — You can configure a price field in the action settings to capture revenue from a form field (e.g., a "price" or "total" field).
- Fixed value — Set a fixed amount per completed action (e.g., €25 per booking).
Dashboard KPIs:
- Value (paid) — Revenue from confirmed/paid transactions
- Pipeline (unpaid) — Revenue from pending transactions
Example use cases:
- A restaurant tracks revenue per reservation by referencing a "total" form field
- A coworking space assigns a fixed €50 value to each meeting room booking
- An online store sees revenue tracked automatically from every order
To configure revenue tracking, open the action settings for any action and set the "Revenue field" option.
